President Bingu wa Mutharika fails Malawians on fuel

Malawi's fuel woes have reached crisis proportions.
Today, thousands and thousands of vehicles have been lining at Top Mandala Total Filling Station since morning, ostensibly because the pump station has received some 'drops' of fuel.
This will be remembered as the most embarassing part of Professor Bingu wa Mutharika's administration.
Close aids to the president have confided that Mutharika is also riled by the fuel shortages that have become part of the norm the past one year.
The country experienced a spate of fule shortages for the first time last year, reminding Malawians that all was not well.
Just when motorists were thinking the problem was over, it came rearing its agly face again, forcing motorists on fuel queues, and shelf prices sky-rocketing.
It is all a sign Mutharika's administration has failed Malawians.
Full granaries, empty fule tanks. It is the shame of our time.
