Socam abandons Business Journalists awards

The Society of Accountants in Malawi (Socam), which raised hopes when it launched a competition for business journalists, has silently abandoned the initiative without uttering a single word.
The development follows Socam's failure to sustain the initiative, purpotedly because the organisation applied for a one-year project, hoping to continue with the awards using own funds.
However, reports indicate that the accountants mother body has failed to raise the funds needed for the awards, and has, instead, just abandoned them without communicating with stakeholders.
