Government has appointed Justice Maxon Mbendera as the New Attorney General, replacing Jane Ansah- whose contract expired recently.
Ansah's appointment as a female Attorney General raised hopes President Bingu wa Mutharika's administration was out to promote women.
With Mbendera's appointment, however, Malawi is one woman shorter.
