It is an innovation that Malawian secondary school going students and their teachers will greatly value, that is perhaps how one can describe the Computer Package for Secondary School Mathematics (CPSSM) a computer software that has been developed by Alinune Musopole formerly a student of the polytechnic one of the constituent colleges of the University of Malawi.
While many Malawian secondary school students have been, shunning mathematics because of the difficulties they find in solving mathematical problems due to shortage of reference books Musopole said his invention would motivate many students to have passion for the subject.
“Having experienced what it takes to master the science of solving mathematical problems as a secondary school student, I felt there could still be a simpler way to train students so that they understand the subject,” said Musopole.
He said the windows based CPSSM which is currently under developmental stages can solve almost all GCE O level mathematical problems and he was currently improving it.
