UPDATE ON THE REPATRIATION OF MALAWIANS FROM THEREPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

Government, through the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA)would like to inform the general public that the Malawi Mission and Consulate inSouth Africa says, about 1000 Malawians are now reported to be affected byXenophobic attacks, and are now seeking shelter in designated camps and policestations.

Four buses are now ready to start transporting the returnees back home. The buseswill depart Johannesburg once clearance formalities are finalised by the SouthAfrican Ministry of Home Affairs.
